 SIERRA COLLEGE REGISTRATION INFORMATION- for continuing Ghidotti students 

All continuing Ghidotti students:  I’ve visited all Phoenix classes in the past few weeks, but here are some reminders.

  • Continuing Sierra College students begin registering on April 23rd-24th.
  • Have you done your pre-registration questionnaire in your My Sierra yet?
  • Make sure you know your date and time to begin registration and be on it!  
  • If you plan to take a college Kinesiology class, please email Jennifer the CRN and course name. Reminder we can only have 3 Ghidotti students enrolled in each Kin class with the exception of the restricted section.

Current 9th/Rising 10th grade students:

  • Refer to your Individualized Learning Plan that we created together in the Fall for class ideas.  
  • You can find your ILP in your school Google Drive. It was shared with you and the title is your name.  If you can’t locate it, please email Jennifer [email protected]  or Ms. Shenk-Tiffany at [email protected] so we can share that with you again. 
  • Typical college classes to consider for 10th grade include:
    • Visual & Performing Art class
    • Foreign Language
    • Kinesiology
    • Something of interest to explore a career?

Current 10th/Rising 11th grade students: 

  • Refer to your ILP for class ideas.
  • There is a restricted English 1A section reserved for Ghidotti students. This class meets Mon/Wed 12:30-1:50pm  (CRN 81643)

Current 11th/Rising 12th grade students: 

  • Refer to your ILP for class ideas.
  • English 1B or 1C is needed to meet your senior year English requirement 

Current 12th/Graduating seniors:

  • If you will be attending Sierra College in the summer or fall, you should have applied to Sierra College as a new college student after completing high school.
  • If you have not scheduled your spring appointment with Jennifer yet to go over your Fall plan, please email with a few days/times that work for you.

SPRING 2024 Semester Begins January 22nd  for Sierra College classes!

Get ready for In Person classes on campus:

  1. Log in to your My Sierra and look up your class schedule to verify your enrollment. This is also where you will find the room number and day/time of your class.
  2. Check your email for a welcome letter from your instructor (some classes)
  3. Show up to your classes and have a great first day!
  4. Make sure you save your syllabus and make note of your instructor’s office availability. 

Get ready for your Sierra College ONLINE course(s):

  1. Log in to your My Sierra and look up your class schedule to verify your enrollment
  2. Check your email for a welcome letter from your instructor (some classes)
  3. Go to the Canvas link (located within My Sierra or from the homepage of www.sierracollege.edu)
  4. Canvas is where your class will “live”
  5. If your course is already open, review the site and your course syllabus
  6. On the first day of classes, make sure you log in to your Canvas and review the welcome letter, syllabus and learn to navigate the class by clicking on all of the links to see where the instructor has posted information
  7. Notice the calendar feature. If your instructor uses the calendar this is a nice way to keep track of due dates

If you are still on a waitlist on the first day of classes:

  1. Email the professor of the course to request an add code if it’s online; show up to class and request an add code the first day if it’s in person
  2. Tell them your name and which course you want to add including the CRN (course reference number)
  3. The instructor may give you an add code or they may say to check back in a couple of days.
  4. Once you receive an add code you must go into your My Sierra to officially register for the course.  Once you click on the course you will be prompted to enter the CRN to register.

Important Sierra College Dates

  • October 12: Registration dates and times for the spring 2024 semester are posted in your My Sierra now. Complete the Pre registration questionnaire in My Sierra to get your date and time.
  • October 16-20: College classes are still in session this week and you should be attending. Anytime you may miss a day of a college class, you should contact the instructor to check in. Read the class syllabus for their policies regarding missing days/work/tests etc….
  • October 30th: Fall classes withdraw deadline (for 16 week courses)
  • November 10: College closed for Veterans Day
  • November 14-15: Register for Spring Sierra College classes in My Sierra
  • November 23-24: College closed for Thanksgiving
  • December 4-8: College finals week
  • December 9: Last day of Fall 2024 semester for college classes
  • December 15: Due date for college grades to be submitted by instructors (check final grades in My Sierra after this date)

Sierra College classes begin Monday, August 21st

  1. Students planning to attend Sierra College next fall should apply for Sierra College scholarships. Deadline to apply is March 2nd
    1. Login My Sierra
    2. Select Financial Aid
    3. Select I May Be Eligible for Scholarships
  1. If you are earning an Associate’s Degree from Sierra College this Spring or Summer it is time to petition for your degree now. Deadline to petition is March 1st.  If you are not sure, check your ILP notes from fall or email Jennifer at [email protected].
    1. Login My Sierra
    2. Select Counseling/Academic Planning/Degree Progress
    3. Select Request Degree/Certificate
    4. Select Spring or Summer
    5. Enter your degree name & Sierra GE pattern
    6. Select Jennifer Hurst-Crabb as counselor
    7. Submit!
  2. Schedule your Spring Next Steps Check in appointment with Jennifer
    1. If you plan to enroll at Sierra College you must reapply as a new college student who has received a high school diploma. You will have that by the time you start in summer or fall!  https://www.sierracollege.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/
    2. If you plan to enroll at Sierra College or another community college email Jennifer with a couple days/times that you are available to meet between now and early April. Registration for classes will be around April 25-27.
    3. If you plan to attend a 4 year university, schedule an appointment after May 1st to plan for your steps to enrolling in classes at your university.
