Summer Session Begins June 8th for Sierra College classes!

Get ready for your summer course:

  1. Log in to your My Sierra and look up your class schedule to verify your enrollment
  2. Check your email for a welcome letter from your instructor (some classes)
  3. Go to the Canvas link (located within My Sierra or from the homepage of www.sierracollege.edu)
  4. Canvas is where your class will “live”
  5. If your course is already open, review the site and your course syllabus
  6. On the first day of classes (June 8) make sure you log in to your Canvas and review the welcome letter, syllabus and learn to navigate the class by clicking on all of the links to see where the instructor has posted information
  7. Notice the calendar feature. If your instructor uses the calendar this is a nice way to keep track of due dates

If you are still on a waitlist on the first day of classes:

  1. Email the professor of the course to request an add code
  2. Tell them your name and which course you want to add including the CRN (course reference number)
  3. The instructor may give you an add code or they may say to check back in a couple of days.
  4. Once you receive an add code you must go into your My Sierra to officially register for the course.  Once you click on the course you will be prompted to enter the CRN to register.

Here are some tutorials that you might find useful in navigating Canvas as well as the wait list.

Sierra College Summer registration this week!

If you plan to take a summer class you will:
1. Login to My Sierra to complete the pre registration questionnaire for summer
2. Get your registration date and time once you complete the questionnaire
3. Reg dates and times for continuing students will be sometime between May 16-18. New students who have never taken
a Sierra College class will register on May 19.
4. Refer to your ILP for ideas or contact Jennifer or Mrs. Wilhite if you’re not sure what to take
5. Sign up for classes on your given date and time in your My Sierra under the Registration link

  • Fall and Summer registration for Sierra College are moving back to the middle of May.  More info. to come soon…
    • Check your My Sierra for your registration date and time around April 12th
    • Registration for summer and fall classes will begin around May 16th
  • Sophomores and Juniors: it’s still a Phoenix requirement to complete your ILP with Jennifer.  If you did not already schedule an appointment before we went remote, then check your email from Jennifer.  You have been booked a time slot for a remote appointment!
    • Please confirm your appointment time and phone number with Jennifer by replying to the email you received.  Appointments are being booked for April 13th -17th.
  • Seniors:  If you would like to make an appointment with Jennifer to talk about college options please email Jennifer at [email protected]
  • Freshman: review your Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) that you made in the fall with Jennifer and Mrs. Wilhite
    • More information will be coming soon to help you plan for registration

Important reminders and updates about Sierra College:

  1. Check your email regularly!!!
  2. Login to Canvas daily.
    1. Read any new announcements or discussion board posts.
    2. Create a schedule to help you complete assignments on time.
  3. Registration for Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 has been moved back to May.
    1. Instead of checking for your registration time on March 31st, it will now be posted sometime in the middle of April.
    2. Registration will begin in mid May.
    3. More info will be coming
  4. 10th and 11th grade students still need to complete ILP updating appointments with Jennifer. We can do these by phone.
    1. Email Jennifer with your appointment request at [email protected].
  5. Email Jennifer with any questions or concerns.    Leave a good phone number to call you at.
  6. Progress reports to Sierra College instructors are going out next week.

 

Sierra College Fall 2020 is online now!

The Schedule of Classes for both Summer 2020 and Fall 2020 are posted on the Sierra College homepage now.

Sophomores and Juniors: If you have not already scheduled an appointment with Jennifer to update your ILP do so right away!

This is a Phoenix 102 and Phoenix 103 assignment as well.  To book an appointment stop by the college counseling center or call 530-274-5303.

  • If you can not find a time that works for you please email Jennifer a couple of times that will at [email protected].

Freshman: Review your ILP you made in the fall during your counseling appointment with Mrs. Wilhite and Jennifer.  This should be in your shared filed of your school Google account. Jennifer will be in Phoenix 101 the week of April 13th to review options for fall registration.

Seniors: If you are planning to take Sierra College classes in the summer and/or fall please reapply to Sierra College as a general college student now. You will indicate that you’ve graduated high school (that will be the case by the time you take these classes) and have received your high school diploma.

10TH AND 11TH GRADE: TIME TO UPDATE ILP’S WITH JENNIFER

  • If you have not updated your ILP in the last 3 months with Jennifer, it’s time to do that!
  • Please book your appointment now for anytime before April 25th when we begin registration
  • To book an appointment with Jennifer to update your ILP please stop by the Sierra College counseling center or call 530-274-5303. You need your Sierra College student ID number to book an appointment
  • DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE! JENNIFER’S SCHEDULE BOOKS UP QUICKLY!

PROGRESS REPORTS FOR COLLEGE

  • Progress reports go out to college faculty the week of March 30th
  • The withdrawal deadline is April 17th for this spring 2020 semester
  • Jennifer will visit Phoenix classes the week of April 13th to go over summer/ fall registration and share progress reports

SUMMER & FALL COLLEGE REGISTRATION

  • The summer schedule of classes is posted online; fall should be posted very soon
  • Registration dates and times will be posted in your My Sierra on March 31st
  • Registration for Ghidotti students begins April 25th
