RECEIVING A SIERRA COLLEGE DEGREE?
If you will be receiving an Associate’s Degree from Sierra College petition for your degree on My Sierra. Deadline is March 1st but do it now!
- On My Sierra homepage select Counseling, Academic Planning and Degree Progress link (it’s the first graduation cap you see on the list)
- Select Request Degree/Certificate
- Fill in the short form and submit
STAYING AT SIERRA?
If you will be taking a Sierra College class this summer and/or staying to complete work at Sierra in the fall you will need to reapply to Sierra College
- Go to the Sierra College home page
- Select the Apply Now link on the front page
- The link takes you to CCC Apply- you all have an account but may not remember it since you first applied before you started at Ghidotti- you can try the forgot username or password feature OR create a new account. If you create a new account it should link to your old account. If you receive an email with a new Sierra College ID number and not your current, then it did not merge accounts. You will then need to go to Admissions to have them manually merge accounts.
- When you apply there are two critical areas to report in the Education section:
- You will report that you are a “first time student in college (after leaving high school).
- You will say you’ve received your diploma with your high school graduation date (this will be true when the summer or fall term begins)
COLLEGE PLANNING:
To assist with your college planning there are two tools you can utilize.
- To see what GE you may have left for a CSU or UC you can use Degree Works located in your My Sierra. You saw this when we had our senior appointments. Use the “what if” button to locate the GE pattern of your choice and you will see what you have completed and what you have left. This will give you an idea of what GE areas you may need to complete next year.
- To see what lower division courses you may be doing in your major next year go to assist.org. Select the CSU or UC of your choice and Sierra College and the major you’ve applied to for a list of courses
- For private schools or out of state- see Jennifer (we can figure this out together)
Once you decide where you will be next year, you can make an appointment with Jennifer to get help creating your list of courses to take so you are prepared for your college orientations and registrations.
Please make appointments early. I get booked up quickly so please don’t wait until the last minute.
Stop by the Sierra College counseling center to book an appointment with Jennifer or call 530-274-5303
