Congressional Art Competition – From the Office of Congressman Kevin Kiley

The time has arrived once again! I am pleased to announce that Congressman Kevin Kiley’s office is participating in this year’s Congressional Art Competition, sponsored by the Congressional Institute, which recognizes the artistic talent of high schoolers across the country. Please see the following link for more information about the competition: https://www.house.gov/content/educate/art_competition/.

As part of the competition, one student winner from each Congressional District will have their artwork displayed at the United States Capitol for one year in addition to a Certificate of Congressional Recognition. They will also be invited, along with one guest, to a reception in Washington D.C. on June 27 (with round-trip airline tickets provided). Student art submissions will be judged by an independent panel.

Please find deadlines for the competition, below:

  • Artwork is due for submission at Congressman Kevin Kiley’s District Office (6538 Lonetree Blvd, Suite 200, Rocklin) by April 22. Our business hours are 9am – 5pm Monday through Friday.
    • If students are unable to submit the artwork in person, please contact [email protected].
  • A reception, where the winner will be announced, will be held on Saturday,  April 27 at the Sierra College Q Building (5100 Sierra College Blvd, Rocklin, CA 95677).  To see a map of the campus, click here. The reception will take place from 4:00pm – 6:00pm PT.
    • Second and third place finishers will be eligible to have their artwork hung in Congressman Kiley’s Washington D.C. and District offices, respectively.
    • All students who attend the reception will receive Congressional Honor from Congressman Kiley to recognize their work and participation in the competition.

Please note that artists must complete the Student Release Form (attached to this email) and include it with their completed artwork. Additional information can be found on the Art Submission Checklist and the Rules for Students and Teachers, also attached. All this and more can be found at the website https://www.house.gov/content/educate/art_competition/.

There is no theme that the artwork must adhere to, however, please note that the artwork should be appropriate for being publicly displayed.
